A straight $10.00 bet placed on July 21, 2015 at a Las Vegas sports book. Royals to win the ALCS. Will the odds be from that day or like Pari-mutual betting, right up to the last game time?

Straight single bets are different from pari-mutual (tote) betting. The odds are calculated at the last minute on a pari-mutual bet and is relatable to how many (and how much) has gone on a selection. For a straight forward single bet, you will have taken the odds at the time that your bet was placed. It doesn’t matter if it was 5/1 then and now the odds are 4/5 on the Royals, the odds you took at the time of the wager will stand. There are exceptions like taking an SP (not knowing the odds) on a horse.
